World Host Training

February 2015 – Experience Team – World Host Training

On Saturday 27th February it was my turn to attend a full day’s training day for the ‘World Host’ certificate presented by Lisa Burke from Durham County Council.

World Host Training was used at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The group was made of around 16 people, most of which I’ve never even seen before, but any shyness or nervousness goes out of the window immediately as we have all signed up to be part of the Experience Team for exactly the same reasons.

To be part of a team of people who will be quick to open our arms to welcome each and every visitor to the 14 shows of thousands of people from July.

We are not only the face of the show, but the eyes and ears too, we want to create a happy vibe from the moment each visitor steps out of their cars to the moment they leave.

Lisa was an exceptional presenter of the World Host training who ensured each volunteer was actively involved in the course, the presentation was excellent and was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all.

Can’t wait to see what’s next.
