Being a volunteer on ‘Kynren’ opens up a lot more doors than just learning new life skills and being part of a community themed project.
I’ve spoken in detail before in the blog topic “What does the project mean to me?” about how this project can provide new friendships and meeting and socialising with new and interesting people.
And as part of the Experience Team we were keen to push forward with our own individual plans and create some ‘Experience Team Social Meetups’
The first of what will be many happened on Friday 15th April, as a group attended a drinks meetup at The Pollards Inn, Bishop Auckland. And despite the awful weather, a good time was had by all, discussing not only the project and our training, but also learning about the people that we will be working alongside and their families and their personal lives.
Alongside this, we are keen to show our support to local businesses as each one will provide the venues for each of our meetups.
Something that as individuals we are keen to build on and we are all already looking forward to attending the next one.
